Most of the game takes place during nighttime and in the open, but there are occasional interiors such as old steam boat, various huts, and even the Bakers' farm which was now cordoned by the Umbrella Corporation. Fist fighting is a big part of this DLC and aside from regular left and right cross, there are various combos that depend on timing and order of buttons you press. Joe can sneak up to a monster from behind and perform a silent takedown or he can take them head on with his fists. Navigating the swamp can be perilous and he will fight bio-weapon monsters as well as the habitat's natural predators, the alligators. He's bent on saving her no matter what, and he's willing to fight whoever comes his way to save the last remaining member of his family. Before he rescued Zoe, Joe overheard the the soldiers talking about a cure for Zoe. That said, this story gives you no firearms whatsoever and you rely on your fists and stealth takedowns, although you can build your own weapons the crude way, such as using branches and metal scraps to build throwing spears or nail bombs. a couple of punches in the head and one by one, they all fall down.
RESIDENT EVIL 7 END OF ZOE HOW TO
Joe has been living in a swamp on his own for a long time, and knows how to deal with monsters in the most direct way there is. He cares little for words and only believes what he sees so he quickly takes them down with a couple of punches and carries Zoe back to his hut. This story kicks in as Joe Baker, Jack's brother spots two Umbrella soldiers examining Zoe. Last this we know about her from past events is that she ended up in a somewhat petrified state. After Ethan gave the antidote to Mia and left in a boat, he said he'll send help for Zoe, though she saw no hope in that happening. Creepier still is Joe’s instance on eating bugs to regain health you haven’t truly experienced VR until you’ve shoved a grub in your own mouth. Not an American user? Description End of Zoe is last chronological story downloadable content for Resident Evil 7 and tells us what happened to Zoe, the daughter of Marguerite and Jack Baker. As someone that has to look away during RE7’s more intense moments, I found these sections nearly unbearable, even though in reality they’re relatively simple to navigate. While the scares of facing down the molded might have withered away, sections that have you slowly creeping through a swamp hoping to avoid detection by giant alligators are nearly impossible to sit still through. RE7’s atmosphere has always provided an unbeatable sense of place in VR, but every fight here reminds you that you’re really sitting on a couch with a headset on.Ĭombat aside, though, this is one of the better pieces of Resident Evil 7 to experience in VR if you’re brave enough. Whereas the rest of RE7 makes the best use of the DualShock 4 in VR and remains surprisingly immersive, here it feels like a huge missed opportunity not to be able to use the Move controllers to swing your fists.
That said, swinging your detached arms around inside VR feels exactly that detached. Inside PSVR, aiming your fists is just as easy as it was to aim a gun. If you’re going one-on-one then you’ll take them down without a scratch, but if there’s two or more you’ll have to divide and conquer to avoid falling victim to another’s attacks. Rather than keeping your distance and making sure to fire only when you know you’ll hit a weak spot, here you charge towards baddies and madly swing your fists, hoping they’ll fall before you do. Inevitably, then, End of Zoe’s combat is an entirely different beast from the main game. Joe can take down some enemies with fewer hits than it would take Ethan with a pistol. Yep, the game really has you punching, kicking and snapping the grotesque, haunting molded monsters as if you were in a boxing match from hell. You wouldn’t believe it at first, though while Ethan and Chris both rely on powerful weapons to take on the enemy, Joe uses his bare hands.
Like the rest of the Bakers, Joe is something of a hillbilly, only he’s not infected with the virus that turns people into monsters.
